The King will reply, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." --Matthew 25:40
What is Earth Psalm's Missions Commitment?
Each season, Earth Psalm Photography chooses a carefully researched missions organization which to donate a portion of proceeds.
Meet the Missions Coordinator.
Hey, I'm Jordan. I'm a follower of Jesus, wife, mother, farmer's daughter, and teacher. A few of my passions are history, country music, decorating, gardening, and...food!
When Rebekah asked me to join the Earth Psalm team I was both honored and inspired. I think our Missions Commitment is so important because Jesus commanded for us to first love God with the totality of our being, then love people. Through this initiative, our goal is to do just that.
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting for the Lord for the display of His splendor." Isaiah 61:1-3
How do we choose missions organizations?
We look for three criteria:
- Overseas: third world country organizations.
- Humanitarian: meeting the needs of the poor, hungry, and sick.
- Faith-based: following the call of Jesus to love others and share the gospel.
Earth Psalm's Missions Coordinator and Photographer work together to carefully research and select missions organizaions that meet these critera.
Why are missions important?
As Christians we are commanded to go into all the earth and tell every person about the sacrifice Jesus made for us [Mark 16:15]. We are not all able to travel the world, but we can all help this cause from where we are. That is our mission at Earth Psalm Photography. By booking a session, you can help, too.
How much is donated, and when?
A new missions organization is chosen quarterly.
- Spring: March, April, May
- Summer: June, July, August
- Autumn: September, October, November
- Winter: December, January, February
Twenty percent (20%) of profits during each season will go toward that quarter's selected organization. A client's payments may not always go toward the same mission. For instance, a bride who books her wedding date in March and pays her final payment in September will have her deposit go toward the spring quarter and final payment toward the fall.
How did Earth Psalm's Missions Commitment get started?
That's a great question! As the story of how our Missions Commitment started is a personal one, you can read it in More About Me.
